Supporting the College of Architecture, Planning & Design through the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign

With programs consistently ranked in the top 15 nationally and student work that routinely earns competitive awards, the College of Architecture, Planning & Design is building upon a strong foundation. Now we plan to accomplish even more and we invite you to join us.

Funding priorities: $28 million

Through the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign, we will raise $28 million for the College of Architecture, Planning & Design to advance toward its 2025 goals and to benefit four areas: student success, faculty development, facility enhancement and an excellence fund to support new and emerging needs.

Student success: $6 million

We know APDesign students face extra costs for studio projects, field trips and related materials. Currently, only two-thirds are financially able to study abroad and one-third can take advantage of internships. To send the most qualified, prepared graduates into the workforce, we must work together to ensure financial need is no barrier to opportunity. With your help, we can deliver the opportunities expected at highly-ranked colleges and universities.

Faculty development: $4 million

Our dedicated faculty and staff deserve recognition through professional development and endowed awards. They must have the graduate research assistants and technology they need to deliver a world-class education to our students. An investment in faculty is an investment in excellence for our college, but also in K-State’s strategic plan to become a top 50 public research university by 2025.

Facility enhancement: $13.5 million

APDesign will build Regnier Hall, a three-story center for collaborative learning and design, in present-day Seaton Court. Reinventing how we utilize Seaton Court will increase spatial efficiency, enhance the student experience and serve as a model for innovation in the historic core of the K-State campus. A simultaneous renovation and expansion of Seaton Hall East will improve acoustic quality, energy efficiency and economic viability. With your help, we will create a learning environment on par with our national reputation.

Excellence funds: $4.5 million

Excellence funds provide us with flexible resources to meet areas of greatest need as well as emerging opportunities. Excellence funds may support specific needs in curriculum areas, lectures, symposia, and student and faculty travel for professional and personal development. These funds are critical to supporting the college’s national reputation as a leader in promoting sustainable design, aesthetic delight, social equity and economic vitality.
